Everything you need to learn to use a rifle! We always recommend you use your own rifle to take this course but we have the ability to rent to you. The gun rental is $25, and ammunition charges are $25 for the 50 cartridges you will need to complete the course.

This 8-hour course will begin in the classroom where you will be taught the basics of rifle and ammunition. We will also begin to learn about the fundamentals of rifle shooting with REAL firearms in the classroom. Students will also learn how to clean and store their firearms.

Your Day:

Meet us at the designated location to learn rifle nomenclature, ammunition fundamentals, how to load, unload, grip, aim and shoot your rifle safely!

The class will meet at The Yolo Sportsman’s Association, 24189 Aviation Ave, Davis, CA 95616. 9 AM.

Please follow the directions to the Yolo Sportsmans Association. Students will meet at the classroom just West of the clubhouse.

The range training will focus on the safe and effective use of rifle shooting.

Students will learn:

  1. The Fundamentals of rifle Shooting
  2. Range Etiquette
  3. Loading and  Unloading of a Rifle
  4. Shooting for Accuracy
  5. Practice Until Proficient

Firearms and ammunition (rentals if requested, please leave a comment in the notes if you need to rent a handgun and ammo.)

Folding chair for breaks and classroom sessions

Hand towel

Baseball cap closed-toed shoes. No V-necks or tank tops, please.
