  • ADD-A-GUN QUALIFICATION
    April 10, 2021
    12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

Welcome to the NFI add-a-gun qualification program! This qualification is done as a community service to any CCW holder who wants to add a gun to their existing CCW permit. This  qualification will meet all new CA CCW laws.  Students will need to review the packing list for this qualification and ensure proficiency with the firearm to pass a simple marksmanship qualification. Shooters must use the firearm safely.  If a shooter cannot use the firearm safely, cannot load and unload it, or demonstrates other errors in handling we recommend taking an NFI Basic Pistol Course. There will be no handgun training during this qualification.  You can add as many guns as you want to your permit using this service on this one day.  If you are unsure if you can qualify with the firearm, or if you would like an NRA Instructor to coach you. Please contact Jen O’Hara at 530-567-5165 to register for an NFI Basic Pistol Course.

NFI can many times provide the ammo for your CCW qualification. Because of the ammunition shortage, we are currently breaking cartridges down into “qualification boxes” of 20 rounds. The cost for these will be $15.00. In the instance of initial CCW training you will need 100 cartridges for your primary handgun and 20 cartridges for each you will qualify with for your CCW.  Normal calibers are available: .22LR, .380, 9MM, .40, .45. CA State Law requires you shoot these cartridges and cannot leave the range with them.  If you have a question please contact the instructor below.  You can pay with cash, check or Venmo.

ATTENTION: AB 2103 has changed the California CCW laws. Beginning 1/1/19 each gun that is added to a CCW permit must be shot at a range for qualification.  In order to add a gun to your CCW permit you must shoot it with an authorized instructor for qualification. NFI offers this qualification at no charge if the student will pay their own range fees at the designated range.  Range fees are $11.00.  Register here and pay for this qualification. Please make sure you are on time to your qualification as the actual shooting portion is very brief and the instructors will leave the range as soon as they are finished.  If you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment you will need to reschedule. Range fees are non-refundable.

THIS IS NOT A CCW RENEWAL COURSE! THIS IS A FREE SERVICE TO ADD A HANDGUN TO YOUR EXISTING CCW. TO RENEW A CCW PLEASE REGISTER FOR A CCW RENEWAL COURSE ON THIS WEBSITE.

Qualification will be done at the Tehama County NFI Range 13753 Mendenhall Road Red Bluff, Ca 96080.  Directions will be emailed to you.  The NFI Instruction team will be awaiting your arrival and normally teaching a class already.  At this time all forms and paperwork will be completed for your CCW qualification. Students will then shoot their qualification.  Qualification normally takes about ten minutes per gun.

Please print the Shasta County Range Qualification by clicking on the link below.  This must be filled out before coming to class.  Tehama County does not have their own form, so we use the Shasta County form.

Description:

Google Maps sometimes makes you end up in the wrong location.  Follow the directions and you will make it to the location.  From Baker Road turn West.  Turn left on Mendenhall Road.  Drive until you see the sign that says Crook and a metal gate on the left hand side.  Do not drive down the driveway with a house.
