Welcome to the NWTF x-Jakes Youth Spring Turkey Hunt. We select 20 Mentors, and 20 Youth Hunters to experience the Spring Turkey Woods in Northern California. There is no cost to this incredible award-winning experience, yet we do ask for parent volunteers to help us run our events for the program.

Events Include: (All times and dates are subject to change based on weather and facility availability.)

Random Drawing on 1/5/23 for successful applicants.

Gun Safety and Hunting Seminar. Redding Gun Club, 2/12/23 8 AM-1 PM.

Youth Hunting Weekend 3/18-19/23. Youth Hunters and Parent/Guardian/Authorized Adult will hunt turkeys until a turkey is harvested or the weekend runs out at 5:00 PM on Sunday

Dinner and Pictures, 3/18/23, 6:00 PM Cottonwood Community Center Park. Pizza, drinks pictures, and awards!

NWTF X-Jakes Youth Banquet, 3/23/23 5:00 PM. $10.00 per attendee for meal and raffle. Cottonwood Community Center. (Hunt Leaders and Land Owners are free!)

We ask that if you are applying for this exclusive program you set aside the time to make the events scheduled. We understand that sporting activities and other events may take priority over a hunting weekend. If this is the case, please do not apply as we try to reserve this opportunity for those who will be able to attend all events. Total value for this event per hunter is over $1500.

Requirements:

1. 12-15 years old on 3/18/23
2. Must be accompanied during the hunt by ONE parent/guardian/authorized adult.
3. Must have a California Hunting License for the hunt.
4. Must be a member of NWTF Jakes. ($15.00 at NWTF. ORG)
