DUE TO SENATE BILL 2, ALL INITIAL COURSES FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ARE NOW 16-HOUR COURSES. THIS COURSE INCLUDES THE MANDATED ONE-HOUR OF MENTAL HEALTH INFORMATION AND TEST.

WHEN YOU REGISTER PLEASE REGISTER YOUR NAME EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE.

Completion of this 16-hour online course and your live-fire qualification will enable you to apply for your California CCW. This course is broken down into multiple sections containing lessons of instruction that you will be tested on at the end of each section and a Final Exam covering all course content. You may start and stop as much as you wish, but must be completed within 90 days from the date of payment and account creation. You must complete the lectures or reading segment before you will be able to complete the segment test. Each lesson is timed to meet California State Requirements of 16-hours.

Once you have completed the course, you will be able to print a certificate of completion for 30 days after completion of the course, so try to print your certificate as soon as you finish. You can also screenshot your certificate with your smartphone. You will then take that certificate to the NFI “Live-Fire” qualification at one of the two location below. The shooting portion of your test can be completed two different ways. A simple qualification (listed as Online CCW Live Fire Qualification) will take approximately 30 minutes. For those needing a little help and training to qualify, we have a four-hour course designed to teach basic defensive marksmanship for $82.00, (This course will be listed as 4 Hour Basic Marksmanship). We HIGHLY recommend this course for anybody not completely comfortable with their shooting abilities. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRINT A REPLACEMENT AFTER 30 DAYS HAS PASSED FROM THE TIME YOU COMPLETED THE COURSE. A renewal course will be required every two years to renew your California CCW, once your initial permit is in-hand.
