Legal Heat has partnered with the Northern Firearms Instruction and Winchester Canyon Gun Club for this extremely popular California CCW Course! Thousands of students have enjoyed this professional curriculum across the state and continue to refer family and friends to our classes!

CLASS DETAILS

This is a two-day course. Day 1 will consist of the classroom portion, and day two will consist of the range portion.

On Day 1, the class will meet at Hilton Garden Inn, 6878 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, at 8 am.

On Day 2, the class will meet at Winchester Canyon Gun Club at 6620 West Camino Cielo, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, at 8 am.

During the range portion of this course, students will be taught a defensive shooting curriculum which will include the following:

  • Defensive accuracy
  • Firearms manipulation
  • Presentation from a holster
  • Movement
  • Immediate reloading
  • Failure to fire drills
  • CCW Qualification per issuing agency

The qualification will take place with each firearm listed on the CCW permit.  Please bring firearms and 150 cartridges for each firearm you wish to list on your permit.

Upon completion of a 76-cartridge curriculum, you will be required to complete the following 36-cartridge CCW qualification:

Firearm qualification will consist of firing from 3-15 yards.

3 Yards: 12 cartridges in 20 seconds

10 Yards: 12 Cartridges in 30 seconds

15 yards: 12 cartridges in 45 seconds

RANGE PACKING LIST

  • All firearms you want to list on your CCW permit.
  • 150 Cartridges per firearm
  • OWB or IWB hip holster
  • Eye and Ear Protection
  • Closed-toes shoes
  • Baseball or another brimmed cap
  • Snacks and drinks, if desired
  • Folding chair for breaks on the range
  • Completed documents are attached above
PLEASE NOTE: Firearms and live ammunition are NOT permitted in the classroom training environment. If your class requires a live fire portion, please leave your firearms unloaded and locked in your vehicle until you are instructed to retrieve them. Please plan accordingly.

Punctuality Policy:
Please show up PROMPTLY for class. Please keep in mind some of our classes start at the same time the store opens, so please check the store hours and ensure you are seated in the class at start time. Our instructors are required by law to cover a certain amount of material. If you are not present for the entire class, you will not be qualified for the permit(s). You may be turned away and asked to reschedule if you show up late. Our instructors cannot risk their accreditations by certifying those who are not in attendance for the entire class or people who are absent from any significant portion of the class. You may reschedule your paid class once for free and then for $15.00 per additional reschedule within a year of purchase. Thank you for your support.

Safety Policy:
There are no compromises on safety. Safety is a critical aspect of all classes, and unsafe or disruptive behavior in class or on the range will result in dismissal. In the event you are dismissed due to a safety issue, you will not be refunded. The instructor has sole discretion in determining if you have engaged in unsafe or disruptive behavior.

Refund Policy:
Cancellation Policy: Instructors are hired, classrooms are rented and range time is reserved for each student when they register.  Training fees include a 50% non-refundable deposit. Students who request a refund must do so before the start of their class.  Students who wish to reschedule their course may do so anytime before the start time of their class. Students are limited to one rescheduled date and must be within 365 days of the original course start date.   Students absent from any portion of a class without notice will not be eligible for a refund or reschedule.

All future class dates are tentative based on Corona Virus restrictions. By purchasing a ticket, you agree that all in-person class fees are 50% NON-REFUNDABLE.  You accept that if your class has to be rescheduled due to Corona Virus directives from any governmental entity, or venue partner, or for ANY other reason, your only recourse is to reschedule the class for a future date.

COVID-19 Notice:
In the interest of everyone’s health and safety, we are asking students who do not feel well on the day of class to reschedule their class for a future date at no charge. If you have health concerns about attending a class, we are happy to reschedule your class for a future class date at no charge. If you need to reschedule your course, please email your original receipt to contact@mylegalheat.com, along with the date of the future class you would like to attend.

Rescheduling of Future Classes:
Unless we notify you otherwise, classes will continue as scheduled. Legal Heat will comply with CDC directives and any governmental orders, and if classes are rescheduled because of these directives and orders, you will be notified. We will make our best effort attempts to hold all classes as scheduled. However, all class registrants assume the full risk if the course needs to be rescheduled to a future date due to Corona Virus / COVID-19 directives from either government or our retail partners.
