Join Chuck Fields, an NFI Senior Instructor, for this Handgun Essentials class! Chuck’s credentials include CA DOJ Certified Firearms Instructor, Nationally Certified Multi-Discipline Firearms Instructor, Nationally Certified Chief Range Safety Officer, Military Veteran/Helicopter Pilot, and former Law Enforcement Officer.

Welcome to an incredible class filled with handgun safety, responsibility and fun! This class prepares new shooters to receive their CCW Training Certificate or become comfortable with their firearms. Age minimum: 13 years old.  This is a required class to become an NRA Instructor.

Classroom Time:  Welcome to the NRA Basic Pistol Class.  This class is taught to hundreds of students a year in California. Students will learn pistol types, operation, maintenance, ammunition fundamentals, grip, stance, aiming, trigger control,  breathing and follow-through.

Range Time: Students will also perform live fire exercises learning the basics of handling and shooting your firearm accurately. Although using your own firearm is highly recommended, we are happy to provide you with one to complete the training! Please let us know if you need to use a firearm for this class.  If you have your own firearm, please bring 100 cartridges to complete the class.

Ammo Packages are available during this course. Ammunition used during the course can be provided at regular market value. .22LR pistols will be provided with ammo however the use of   KW Defense’s Rage guns will be provided at not cost however store ammo must be purchased.  California State law prohibits students from leaving the range with this ammo. All full and unused boxes will be refunded on-site. Ammo calibers available are 22LR, .40, 9MM, .45, .380 & .38 Special.

Cancellation Policy: Training fees include a 50% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations prior to the start of the class will be given a 50% refund of training fees, or a one-time reschedule of training within one year.
