As responsible gun owners we should do virtually everything in our power to avoid an armed confrontation. That said, it is better to be armed AND trained and to not need it, rather than need it and be unprepared. This 8-Hour Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol class does not emphasize basic marksmanship but rather takes the next step to prepare you to operate your firearm under duress.

In this Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol class we introduce our students to proper selection of equipment for concealed carry (i.e., holsters, magazines, belts, and on-body and off-body carry options). Furthermore, your instruction will utilize both dry and live weapons instruction and training to teach and train you to safely and effectively draw and holster your firearm from your strong side, outside or inside of the waistband holsters. You will be introduced to and practice administrative loading, immediate and tactical reloading, malfunction drills, as well as an introduction to movement under arms. The drills are simple in nature, will be demonstrated by your instructor, and you will have to opportunity practice in both a dry and live fire environment. This course is designed to be taught at a pace that is both safe and yet challenging.

The uniform for the Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol Course is appropriate range wear (Please no low-cut shirts or tank-tops or open toed shoes.) Along with appropriate eye and ear protection you will need a strong-side outside/inside the waistband hip holster, at least one magazine carrier (A double magazine carrier is preferred.) and a belt that is sturdy enough to handle the firearm and ammunition while presenting. Also, bring a cover garment.
