This course is taught by NFI Instructor Paul Robins. Paul is a college professor that has also been an instructor at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. He is currently an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and California DOJ Certified Firearms Instructor. Come benefit from his extensive classroom and range experience.

As responsible gun owners we should do virtually everything in our power to avoid an armed confrontation. That said, it is better to be armed AND trained and to not need it, rather than need it and be unprepared. This 6-Hour Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol class does not emphasize basic marksmanship but rather takes the next step to prepare you to operate your firearm under duress.

In this Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol class, we teach skills that most Concealed Carry holders in California have never trained for: Safely and effectively drawing and holstering your firearm with and without concealment, Quickly clearing malfunctions, Emergency and Tactical reloading, and some basic defensive movement principles. We’ll discuss the proper selection of equipment for concealed carry (i.e., holsters, magazines, belts, and on-body and off-body carry options). All drills are simple in nature, will be demonstrated by your instructor, and you will have the opportunity practice in both a dry and live fire environment. This course is designed to be taught at a pace that is both safe and yet challenging.

The uniform for the Step II – Advanced Defensive Pistol Course is appropriate range wear (Please no low-cut shirts or tank-tops or open toed shoes). Along with appropriate eye and ear protection, you will need a strong-side outside/inside the waistband hip holster with an opening that does not collapse when gun is drawn (OUTSIDE WAISTBAND STRONGLY RECOMMENDED), at least one magazine carrier (A DOUBLE MAGAZINE CARRIER OR TWO SINGLES IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED) and a belt that is sturdy enough to handle the firearm and ammunition while presenting. Also, bring a cover garment.

This is a 6-hour course from 10AM to 4PM. We will have a working lunch in the classroom, so pack your lunch, liquids and a snack.
