Welcome to an incredible 2 part class filled with handgun safety, responsibility and fun! We will host the classroom time at The Tremont Cafe from 5 pm to 9 pm and then head out to the range the following morning from 8am to 12 pm.  This class prepares new shooters to receive their CCW Training Certificate or become comfortable with their firearms. Age minimum: 13 years old.  This is a required class to become an NRA Instructor.

NOTE:  Residents of the City of Red Bluff can use this training as part of their hours to receive their CCW Training certificate, as their jurisdiction’s requirements for CCW training are 12 hours compared to the 8 hours for Tehama County residents.

Classroom Time:  Welcome to the NRA Basic Pistol Class.  This class is taught to hundreds of students a year in California. Students will learn pistol types, operation, maintenance, ammunition fundamentals, grip, stance, aiming, trigger control,  breathing and follow-through.

Range Time: Students will also perform live fire exercises learning the basics of handling and shooting your firearm accurately. Although using your own firearm is highly recommended, we are happy to provide you with one to complete the training! Please let us know if you need to use a firearm for this class.  If you have your own firearm, please bring 100 cartridges to complete the class.

Ammo Packages are available during this course. Ammunition used during the course can be provided at $45 a box. California State law prohibits students from leaving the range with this ammo. All full and unused boxes will be refunded on-site. Ammo calibers available are 22LR, .40, 9MM, .45, .380 & .38 Special.  Select the ammo which applies to you when registering for the course, and it will be delivered to the student on the range where it can be paid for with cash or check.  Please note I no longer accept Zelle or Venmo. Please leave the requested caliber and number of boxes (50 cartridges in each) in the notes section.
