Welcome to the NWTF x-Jakes Karen Stout Spring Turkey Hunt. We select 20 Mentors/Hunt Leaders and 20 youth hunters to experience the Spring Turkey Woods in Northern California. There is no cost to this incredible award-winning experience, yet we do ask for parent volunteers to help us run our events for the program. Hunters must have a valid hunting license by 3/21/26 and be an NWTF Jakes Member.

As this is a developmental program, we want to teach hunters knowledge, skills, ethics, and sportsmanship, using the spring.

Age: 12-15 years old on 3/21/26

Events Include: (All times and dates are subject to change based on weather and facility availability.)

Random Drawing on 1/5/26 for successful applicants.

Hunters/Hunt Leaders meeting and meet and greet on 1/22/26 at 6:30 PM at a location TBD.

Gun Safety and Hunting Seminar. Redding Gun Club, 2/15/26, 9 AM-1 PM. (8 AM for volunteers to set up)

Youth Hunting Weekend 3/21-22/26. Youth Hunters and Parent/Guardian/Authorized Adults will hunt turkeys until a turkey is harvested or until 5:00 PM on Sunday, 3/22/26.

NWTF X-Jakes Youth Banquet, 3/26/26, 6:00-8:00 PM.  $10.00 per attendee for meal and raffle. Anderson VFW Hall, 3210 W Center St, Anderson, CA 96007. (Hunt Leaders and Land Owners will enjoy a complimentary dinner for their hard work!) Please register and pay for your attendees as soon as you are selected so we can plan for catering. If you are applying for this exclusive program, please set aside time to attend the events. We understand that sporting activities and other events may take priority over a hunting weekend. If this is the case, please do not apply, as we try to reserve this opportunity for those who can attend all events. The total value/cost to present this opportunity per hunter is over $2,000.

Requirements:

1. 12-15 years old on 3/21/26
2. Must be accompanied during the hunt by ONE parent/guardian/authorized adult.
3. You must have a California Hunting License for the hunt.
4. Must be a member of NWTF Jakes. ($15.00 at NWTF. ORG)
